They have the perfect house, job and family.  However, do they really have everything figured out or are we just being fooled into thinking they do? Yes, there are people who have figured things out and are living out their dreams but there are those who are simply putting on a show tho let the world believe that they have figured it all out. This show will fool the world but it will do nothing for you. There are individuals who put so much effort into pushing the perfect images and telling the perfect stories of their life but put little or no effort into actually putting some truth to these images and stories. In recent times I have seen a lot of people on social media posting about finding the right partner and settling down. We all had dreams growing up of the fairy tale wedding and the happily ever after. With each passing day are we all not seeing that we need to put these fairy tale ideals aside and start living in the real world. Firstly, the idea that the ring needs to be perfect for the proposal to be perfect. Newsflash there doesn't even need to be a proposal or an engagement period. Secondly, the continued addiction to looking at wedding dresses and venues will set up yourself for a lot of disappointment later in when you realize it's unrealistic to spend so much money on the ceremony. This poem was inspired by the current problems that Jamaicans are having with the scheduled increase in passport fees. I've been looking at the comments of many Jamaicans who seem rather incentive about the issue but I just smile because one day I might just find themselves in a position where they may finally understand why so many have taken this so hard.
