Miss Universe

Smooth golden skin she brings Beauty radiates from her but it starts from deep within Floating on clouds she glides about  There is no doubt in our minds that she knows her worth Loud cheers shake the walls but she stands firm "Good evening everyone" she begins to wow the crowd Well mannered and such strong stature we get lost in her charisma  Her body is designed with such precision  Her hair lays low, to ensure that the crown fits just right  The cheers fade away and the crowd is stunned  Pardon me? Why is miss universe standing four stages down? The black, green and gold flag still towers over the crowd Why is it that miss universe isn't wearing her crown? Didn't they see she stood out from the rest? She flashes a beautiful smile to tell us she is still the best She danced to the beat of the performers soothing music Such a playful persona She was truly like no other The show came to an end The winner stood tall and proud but four stages down  Miss Jamaica is still

Jamaica story

How much louder must I cry out for you to feel the pain you have caused me? This relationship is a hard one I don't know how I manage it for so long My body is filled with bruises and I can hardly keep the storm from destroying my foundation In the west and the east they fight over me but I still try to remain faithful to each and everyone Recently however I noticed that many of my broken bones will never mend to become one  These foreign substances you have allowed to exploit my body For many years I have given the best of myself to you but not much good it has done The highest bidder will come and my body will be owned by another foreign land  The children I bring into this world have turn their backs on me My body is polluted,my blood is weak, I can barely make ends meet Yet some of you throw stones at me when I can't give you anything to eat Why do you continue to abuse me when I have done you no wrong? What if I decide to stop lending you my hands to keep your houses stand

The Government wants what the Government wants

Am I the only one who has come to realize that the only time the government really cares about public opinion is when it comes to election time. The government can't regain power without the help of the public. We as citizen have the power to decide whether or not they are given the chance to further rip our country apart. Why is then that we as citizens fail to see that the power is indeed in our hands. As Jamaicans we are the most vocal people but when it comes to getting up and speaking up for our rights we scared into silence.    When a young government minister can get up and encourage the young minds of the nation to leave the country because of lack of opportunity it certainly speaks volumes. They could care less or not about the fact that employment is so difficult to find. They simply want to send us off so we can be a problem to there nations. To the minister, did you know that the most valuable resource of a nation is its people? Apparently this has slipped your mind o
