A woman belongs in the kitchen

This has been a problem for me for a very long time. Studying history through out high school also opened my eyes to appreciate and respect myself as a woman more and to start sharing my opinions and what I stand for. Why is it that men believe that they we as women are supposed to be limited to the kitchen and household activites? Were you blessed with a different brain than we were as it been proven that you are able to make better decisions that us? No, quite the opposite actually. Now men continue to believe that women only cause problems when it is those same women who have keep them grounded in this world. Don't get me wrong we have our bad ways but are men perfect?? You know why this saying continues to be used because women are accepting it and subject themselves to this and don't push themselves to make a better life for themselves. We are viewed as the ones to clean the house, cook the food and provide the man with all the sexual desires he wishes to be met. Men use

A woman's hurt

She never knew how it felt to have a good touch and be wanted for the right reasons. She was stained inside and out from all the hurt she had felt from the years passed.Whenever someone came close to show her kindness and show her the love that everyone searches for she would see all the abuse glisten through the scars on her flesh. How could one ever let another inside all that confusion that temp le that should be treated with such care and appreciation was treated as nothing over and over and over again. Why should she believe that love really was something to want something to be valued when those who were placed in front of her to lead her in the path of happiness and enjoy the peace of mind that comes from being a child were the ones who placed each and every scar upon her body. She tried to keep a smile on her face despite it all but nothing could really cover it up or make it a thing of the past with each step she took on this path of life she was reminded of her fathers wr

The Path of Life

Remember as I child when our parents did each and everything for us. The times when we were down and our little steps couldn't seem to find the right balance. Those times when we took a bite of something that looked so enticing to our little eyes but were not meant for sensitive little stomach. At that moment in our lives our parents paved the path of our lives. However as more steps were taken on this path that we found ourselves our parents let go a little bit as we now knew a bit more of how to balance.   Our teenage years brought us to the belief that we somehow understood the path that was paved for us. That human want of control, the satisfaction that we know all the answers filled our once fragile little bodies as we flashed off our parents as they reached out a helping hand to us as they knew we hadn't yet understood the path of life...the path was so far from complete.   As we reached that bridge from teenage years to adulthood the path was now filled with po

The World as we know it

The breeze stands still seemingly afraid of the terror of man's wrath How is it that even nature whom we usually marvel at now fears who we have become Could it be because we no longer see the beauty in it but we destroy it with out selfish desires We see the hunger in the eyes of children as we walk on the road We see the need for a little opportunity to change their lives We close our hides to the obvious want of hurting people in the world But despite our eyes being closed our hearts will still feel Or is that we no longer have hearts or we have stopped feeling Children look up to muscians who often sing of crime and sexual desires Where is the positivity?? Where are the teachings of good morals The thing is people sometimes think too much and feel too little Those who have been blessed with the resources to help Instead keep on spending it on selfish desires the want for more and more continues to grow The world as we know it will get no bett

Nowadays Girls

Caught up in the "hype life" Who can give them money and pearls No virtue in them all respect, morals and self worth all covered under the make up and the massive weave they wear Love they seek??? No, what they seek is the love that they have fashioned themselves Man who can buy them house, car and clothes and all the material things this world can buy Then when all is said and done they cry on the next man's arm who only wants to wipe their tears unaware of the cold heart that they possess I sit at times and wonder why should I have pity on them no one told you to seek pleasures of this world And step on your self worth with those heavy heels you wear Stop complaining about not finding the right man when all you are looking dor is someone to pay your bills and sadly Give you the life you yourself should be working towards  Often times you will hear them say they are treated so badly by men When, they don't stop to ponder the thought..&qu

Out of many one people

When you run away from Jamaica because as you say things too hard here and you simply can't bother anymore and then you go to another country with your same lazy attitude, wicked thoughts, negative outlooks and your attitude to simply give up because you can't bother to initiate change what do you think will happen in the long run to the place you run to believe it or not its going to turn out the same way. You can move to a new place but change begins with you. Some of you are so ungrateful because if it wasn't for the Jamaican culture you grew up with you wouldn't be the man or woman you are today. Last year everyone was proud to be a Jamaican celebrating Jamaica 50 and now everyone wants to leave because we have this big hurdle in front of us the country I grew up to love had people who would never ever give up no matter what the reason why we are the way we are now is simply because no one believes in our motto anymore "OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE"selfish d

Meditating on my Jamaica

Have you ever really stopped to take in how Jamaicans behave on a regular basis? Growing up, one thing I always used to hear being said was, Jamaicans are different look how we dress, taste our food, listen to the way we talk. Now, when I look at those things all I can seem to think about is how much we have changed and are swirling in the pool of cultures.'Out of many one people' is indeed still our motto, the Chinese, the Indians and other cultures make up our island BUT we are one JAMAICA. The way I see it we are forgetting that we are indeed one people, divisions can be seen in all aspects of life.Jamaica isn't developing as it should that is true, finances may be the primary reason for that but I believe that one of the reasons why our country isn't moving as it should is because our people have simply forgotten why we are Jamaicans in the first place and why we say we are proud to be Jamaicans. How much positive things do you say about Jamaica each
