Pon the Corner

Comfortably seated on the low walls of the houses of the rich and the famous Hands positioned in the upright position weed in one hand beer in another The curvaceous body of a young developing young lady passes by You cry out to her to give you a moment of her time She fans you off with her hands upright, school books on one hand handbag perched on the other As you fall prey to the strong aroma of your weed You reflect on the her as you remembered you sat beside her in class Your parents gave you all you needed but the way of the corner drew you away You ceased attending school and money was spent on parties and smoking weed was now the order of the day Friends with their flashy cars, designer shirts and jewels that could hypnotize any way ward youth Things came easy for them and that's the way you wanted it to be Soon enough blood stained hands wiped your sweat Your eyes red no more purity within them You killed the very friends you had and the family who cared

The Head is Shaky

Hey everyone been away for a couple of days  but I 'm back!!!    This morning I was watching Smile Jamaica on Television Jamaica (TVJ) as I always so however this morning the leader of the opposition Andrew Holness was was on and on this occasion I saw a calm and collective side to him, in his natural habitat away from the jungle of the parliamentary discussions and there was an absence of the blame game. There is rarely a day that goes by that we aren't face with the usual arguments between the two major political parties that head our country when this usual battle is missing it is viewed as a good day. The blame game has become even more present these days due to the infamous term IMF in our country now its on the lips of majority of Jamaican's.     I find it so upsetting because when the JLP first got into the IMF dealings the PNP was in strong opposition, when the JLP wanted to borrow funds from the NHT the PNP again was in strong opposition yet still they are no

Too many solutions

Everywhere you go someone has a solution to the problems that Jamaica is currently facing yet still we still have problems.Years of solutions on paper, plans for a better tomorrow but with each step we take the problems accompany us. Enough of the signings of new contracts, forming new million dollar deals with international companies, sitting in parliament signing new bills. Action is needed now, today, more than ever as  people continue to die by the hands of our fellow people, children drop out of school because of the inability to pay the required funds. Eighteen years under one government maybe is what gave me this voice in the first place. Seeing our people sit back and just say "a tradition man me nah switch" not only brings tears to my eyes but stirs up my blood within. Problems indeed need solutions but problems need effective and realistic solutions not mere words that will stay inked on papers but will not formalize and bring hope to the aching hearts o

The Beautiful Life

He bites his lips as I sway my hips The passion bubbles up from the fountain of youth filled with enthusiasm He wants me I want him The feeling of want increases as he opens the first button of my blouse My body shivers as my mind leaves to a better place My body becomes weak  His belt buckle my wet hands try so desperately to meet Wanting to unleash the power that was so neatly covered underneath His aggression  doesnt scare me  As he massages my breasts  Sweet words he whispers as he kisses the back of my neck Perhaps I should feel a bit scared to show him my nudity But with him everything feels so safe As he speedily unwraps the condom paper Months of waiting finally caught up with him As he held me firmly and released his passion within The love made was better than one could ever imagine As he kissed my forehead to begin the final round I bit my lips so as to not make a sound He grabbed my hair as pleasure filled his body &qu

Saturn Jamaica Commercial

All publicity isn't good publicity. Echoes rang out from Hanover to Portland about the recent commercial from Saturn. Couple weeks ago we were being praised for how happy and patriotic Jamaicans can be and ministers were honoured by the advertisement. Today, a new picture is being painted but to my surprise some Jamaicans see nothing wrong with this commercial, proud Jamaicans aren't they? When citizens can sit down and believe that the commercial is a good thing it leaves me to wonder how proud we are of the black, green and gold  of our nation. Then again I'm really not that shocked by the words of those who see nothing wrong with the commercial because some of us treat our flag with little or no respect so hey it really isn't no big deal if another country does the same thing.    Its not even about comparing how America would react in this situation because quite frankly I'm tired of the comparisons. We area country set apart so why should we fall in line a

The Path of Life

Remember as I child when our parents did each and everything for us. The times when we were down and our little steps couldn't seem to find the right balance. Those times when we took a bite of something that looked so enticing to our little eyes but were not meant for sensitive little stomach. At that moment in our lives our parents paved the path of our lives. However as more steps were taken on this path that we found ourselves our parents let go a little bit as we now knew a bit more of how to balance.   Our teenage years brought us to the belief that we somehow understood the path that was paved for us. That human want of control, the satisfaction that we know all the answers filled our once fragile little bodies as we flashed off our parents as they reached out a helping hand to us as they knew we hadn't yet understood the path of life...the path was so far from complete.   As we reached that bridge from teenage years to adulthood the path was now filled with potholes that

The Woman

Sexy dresses, designer suits, expensive hair, golden shoes Pointy finger nails, painted faces, bottoms evidently swaying as they walk The woman has an image she tries to maintain each and everyday Its in her hair, its in her clothes, its in her shoes its in her pose Why isn't it in her voice or in her words?? The woman is beautiful and brightens up the world The woman is beautiful and adds darkness to the world The woman is scared, silent, weak and confused The woman wants a change in the world but she falls prey to the evil in the world The woman is loyal The woman is disloyal The woman stands by her man and guides him on the right path The woman stands by her man and plans his way to doing evil The woman calls the man a dog for his wicked ways towards women The woman feeds the dog his bones and pets him and hugs him when he cries out for forgiveness The woman has so much worth The woman sits aside and accepts abuse the woman has lost her worth The woman is smart s
